ABOUT THE VOYAGERS TEAM

Story behind the name

Launched in summer 1977,

NASA’s Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 were the first spacecrafts to travel beyond the solar system and reach interstellar space. They remind us that even when aiming for the stars, no explorer travels alone.

47 years LATER,

this spirit of united exploration inspired two best friends to create Voyagers. More than just a platform – it’s a community where every adventure is a dream come true and every trek gives back to nature. Here we find not only a break from daily routines, but more importantly, a chance to grow into our better selves, out in the wilds of North America.

Meet the Voyagers team

Camilla Liu, Founder

Camilla's journey began with her training in geoscience, earning a B.S. at Georgia Tech and a Ph.D. at UChicago. During this time, she participated in and organized numerous field trips and outdoor adventures.

At Georgia Tech Trailblazers, she served as the Alternative Break Coordinator and Social Media Chair, gaining experience in outdoor trip leading and community engagement. While at UChicago, she became a certified Wilderness First Responder, ensuring safety in all her outdoor endeavors.

Since her first camping trip in the U.S. in 2016, Camilla has noticed that many people, especially international students, struggle with finding companions, resources, and information for safe outdoor adventures. This inspired her to create Voyagers, a space where adventurers like you can be connected, be equipped, and be informed to make your outdoor dreams come true

This mission is important to Camilla because she believes that by exploring the outdoors together, we grow into our better selves and form meaningful connections with others and nature. Also important to Camilla: regular workouts, healthy eating, following your heart, new experiences, and spending time with her cat, Nagi.

Angelyna Ye, Partner

Angelyna's passion for the outdoors was initially inspired by yearly mountain climbing trips with her mom. After earning her B.S. degree at UC Berkeley, she became a software engineer in Silicon Valley. Despite her demanding career, she continues to dedicate her free time to exploring the wilderness.

Throughout her journeys, Angelyna noticed a recurring challenge: people often struggle to find the right companions and resources for their outdoor excursions. That's why she co-creates Voyagers, a platform that not only matches travelers with suitable buddies but also recommends ideal trips and offers a marketplace for buying and selling used gear.

With her technical expertise and love for nature, Angelyna's mission is to help others build meaningful connections and enjoy the great outdoors as much as she does. She is passionate about helping others achieve their goals and believes that through exploring nature together, we can form deep, meaningful connections with each other and the world around us.

Outside of work, Angelyna enjoys weight training, boxing, exploring gourmet food, photography, and spending time with her friend's dog, Xingxing.
